I started with a cold platter of duck and chicken with a few cold vegetables which have sort of a cross between sweet pickle and light curry marenade. The main was rack of lamb with leeks carrots and potatoes in a mild cheese sauce.
For desert i chose cheese and biscuits. This included edam, stilton mature cheddar and brea.
There was also celery and apple.
The meal also includes coffee and i also had a bottle of house white as well.
This came to just over 40 pounds which is 10 pounds more than i would want to pay but i must keep in mind that the food is being prepared and served on the train. The quality has been excellent and the staff have been helpful and friendly.
Lots of business people eat on the train regularly and like it. There is an old guy behind me who the staff call doctor so i assume he is one and that he is a regular traveller.
I would certainly recommend this if you have to go away for work but are afraid of missing dinner.
Alternatively start a holiday in the southwest with a loved one with a meal to pass the time on the way down
This is a little expensive but given the unusual setting and high quality and ample quantity of food along with decent service i would give this one 8 out of 10.
