The Jolly Porter, St. David's Hill, Exeter

This pub has recently had its kitchen taken over by people who cook Thai food.  Staff were helpful about reading the menu and dishes included a range of starters and Thai soups as well as Thai favourites such as green, red or Yellow curry and various stir fries.  You can also have burger and chips as well as other bar snacks.  Expect to pay about £10 for a starter and main from the Thai menu.

I have eaten here twice and have had 2 different curries as well as a soup and sweetcorn cakes for starters.

sure, this is not the best Thai food I have ever had,but it is competitively priced and compares extremely favourably to other pubs I have been to in the country which sell Thai food.  The Jolly Porter is opposite the Great Western Hotel which has also featured in this blog.  It is a very welcome alternative in the area which helps to broaden choice.
